If you're here, it's probably because you're a friend of mine or a family member, in which case I want to thank you sincerely for sharing some of your hard earned money with me. I can't explain how much it means to me.
If you don't know me, my name is Dani. I'm an FSU grad/broke artist living in my hometown of Miami, FL. I'm a trans man raising money for my top surgery in January.
For those who aren't sure what top surgery is, it's essentially a procedure done by a plastic surgeon to remove the breasts in a way that leaves the chest looking more masculine. It's a double incision surgery plus nipple grafts, with a recovery time of about six to eight weeks.
I'm not going to go into detail on why trans folks undergo surgery, or try to explain to you why we deserve rights and healthcare. If you don't agree with my way of life, donate money or leave. Any hate will not be accepted here.
My surgery is scheduled for January 14th, 2021, but the full amount is due 4 weeks before that, so December 17th, 2020. I'm beyond excited to be working with Dr. Garramone, and I feel so lucky that I don't have to travel to have this opportunity. I have been wanting top surgery for six years, and ever since I first started researching this procedure, I have been wanting to work specifically with Dr. Garramone. He is credited as being the best surgeon in the nation for top surgery, but with that comes a price tag. Dr. Garramone does not accept insurance, so the entire procedure (along with anesthesia, bandages, blood work, gauze, mammograms, pathology fees, etc.) all must come out of pocket.
We're looking at a total cost of $11,000 not including the four to six weeks I'll have to take off of work. I am so thankful to have an incredible support system from friends and family, and I would be so grateful for any amount you can donate. Any amount helps, and if you can't donate, I'd also really appreciate if you could share this link. Thank you in advance for anyone who interacts with this page. You're helping me in a way I can't describe. This surgery will help me feel free and look more the way I feel on the inside.
