St Mary's CE Primary School in Tunstall is desperately trying to raise as much as possible for our incredible, dedicated but very poorly Year 3 teacher.

Dani has been a teacher at St Mary's since she qualified in 2013 . Over the years, Dani has touched many hundreds of children's lives and supported many families.

Now she needs your help.

Dani was unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in September 2025. She has since had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed and must now endure strong and grueling Chemotherapy followed by Radiotherapy. Dani has been told that her treatment will continue for life.

Away from school, Dani has a very young family with her husband, Mike. Her two young daughters, Megan and Sophie are aged just 5 and 6.

The financial strain on the family is immense as Dani's teaching salary will soon reduce dramatically in line with policy.

The staff, children and community are fundraising in support of the family. We are planning on climbing Mount Snowdon, whole school fun days, discos and even Braving the Shave to raise as much as possible. This fundraiser is one way to lift a piece of the burden Dani and Mike are carrying so that they can focus on what matters the most right now. Her care, their daughters and being together as a family.
