Dani Ross-Smith's Sudden Passing Fundraiser
Donation protected
It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the very sudden and unexpected passing of Danielle Ross-Smith, or Dani as we knew her, at just 26 years old.
Dani was an incredible person who impacted everyone she met. She was the best daughter, sister, partner, and friend anyone could hope to have. She leaves behind her parents, Pam and Geoff, her two sisters, Rachel and Brittney, along with the family she was creating for herself: her boyfriend, Terrin, and dog/child, Piper. She will be deeply loved and missed by all her family, as well as all of her friends and colleagues throughout her years.
This past July, Dani moved to Utah to start a new chapter with Terrin and Piper. They were both so excited for a fresh start and to explore different career opportunities. They even made plans to go back to school once they were settled. They found an apartment, got approved and had plans to move in soon. However given that they had just moved to Utah, Dani needed proof of income from her manager. When she went into her manager’s office, she suddenly collapsed and was unconscious. 911 was called and her employer performed CPR on her for several minutes while awaiting the ambulance.
She was rushed to the hospital, and immediately sent to surgery. She had to spend the night in ICU, but unfortunately after the doctor’s did everything they could, Dani passed away. Her cause of death was a ruptured brain aneurysm. Her doctors believe she was born with it, and it could have burst at any moment of her life. It was completely unexpected, she had no symptoms at all. It is completely random, nothing that anyone could have prepared for.
Unfortunately, Dani wasn’t prepared for this kind medical emergency. She didn’t have any health insurance because she had recently lost her parents coverage due to age, and her job didn’t include benefits. Her medical expenses have quickly begun to add up. Between her ambulance ride, surgery, scans, meds, and night in ICU, her bill is sadly very high. The loss of Dani is devastating enough to her family, and the added expenses make these times even more stressful and heavy.
Not only are they dealing with the medical expenses, they’ve had to take on so many more expenses including traveling from San Diego to Utah, lodging, moving Dani’s things, and memorial costs.
We ask that you find it in the kindness of your heart to help lift some of the financial burden off of this amazing family who has been through such a tragic loss. We hope that we can help offset some of the medical expenses that her family is now responsible for. The best way to honor Dani during this time would be to donate, any amount would help. She was the most selfless, most hardworking person, and I know that she’d do anything to help her family in a time like this.
We set the goal high, however please keep in mind how crazy uninsured medical costs are.
Thank you all in advance for any donation you are able to make! It will be greatly appreciated by the Ross-Smith family during these terribly devastating times.

Dani's friends decided to make this page in order to help alleviate some of the medical expenses from her accident. All of the funds are going directly to Dani's parents for the hospital bill.
