Support Dani, Jake, and Baby Winnie’s Journey to health
Donation protected
As many of you may know, Jake and Dani were joyfully expecting their baby girl due July 18th. However, on the night of April 18th, their world was completely turned upside down when Dani began experiencing severe chest pain and went to the ER. She was quickly diagnosed with HELLP syndrome—a very rare, but very serious pregnancy complication along with severe preeclampsia. Her doctors were deeming her “one of the sickest patients they’ve ever seen in pregnancy” and her and baby girl were urgently transferred to Grand Forks.
In the early hours of April 19th, Baby Wyndam “Winnie” Marie Peterson was born via emergency C-section at just 27 weeks, weighing a tiny but mighty 1 lb 8.5 oz. She is currently intubated in the NICU and continuing to improve every day!
Dani’s procedure went well, and she is recovering at a slow pace. As many of you also likely know, she had just graduated from chiropractic school the weekend before Wyndam’s early arrival, and unfortunately does not have access to paid maternity leave. The lovely family now faces a long NICU stay, countless medical appointments for both Dani and Wyndam, and the emotional and financial toll of traveling back and forth from Grand Forks to Fargo during this critical time as Dani was too sick to be transported the night of the incident to Fargo where they reside at the moment.
Dani and Jake could use all the love and support right now. Any donation—big or small—will go directly toward helping them with medical expenses, travel costs, meals, and lost income as they care for Baby Wyndam on her journey to health and home.
Please keep this sweet family in your thoughts and prayers, and share if you can.
Thank you for supporting Dani, Jake, and sweet, little Winnie.
