Danhiko High School Video Training Center

Amina's Gift is a non profit organization whose mission is to educate and provide healthcare to the children of Africa. Most of our work is being done in Zimbabwe. We are currently supporting 115 kids, from early primary school through university.

We are working to develop a computer lab at the Danhiko school in Harare. In this lab, we will train the students how to build websites. Once they become accomplished, we will create a hub where they can develop websites for companies in the United States. The students will remain in Zimbabwe and provide coding services to be used elsewhere.

We have chosen the Danhiko school because of their strong commitment to an excellent education. Originally founded in 1981, the school educated the war veterans who often did not fit into the government schools because of physical disabilities and hearing impairment. The school now also includes able bodied students. This unique setting allows students to develop a sensitivity and understanding of many types of people. This will create leaders who will guide the country into the future. The integration of able bodied and students with disabilities creates a remarkable setting for collaboration and innovation.

The computer lab and the training by Chuck Palmer, an American computer scientist, will help initiate a powerful place of education that will help transform the lives of young Zimbabweans. This will allow a group of talented students to support their families from their home country.

Your donations will be used to purchase Computer Equipment including up to 10 Personal Computer work stations and 35” monitor and help pay for internet access for Danhiko High School to allow video training and web development classes from anywhere in the world.
