Danger Dan's Battle to get Back on the Board

Story

Our homie and my little brother Dan Peindl, aka Danger, is only 27 years old and was just diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called Burkitt's Lymphoma. For those of you who know him, you know that he is an extraordinary dude. He is one of the most kind-hearted, thoughtful, and positive minded people you will ever met. He is full of life and both a talented artist and an amazing skateboarder. On January 28th, after the pain became so unbearable Dan went to the hospital with flu like symptoms where they discovered his platelets were dangerously low. After a whirlwind week of tests, he was delivered the life changing diagnosis of Burkitt's Lymphoma. As a result, he has to undergo months of aggressive chemotherapy that started immediately.  Burkitt's Lymphoma is a rare but highly aggressive (fast-growing) B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). In the U.S., only 1,200 people are diagnosed each year with this type of cancer. Burkitt's Lymphoma is fatal if left untreated but with prompt treatment it is associated with a long-term survival rate of around 80%. Therefore, intensive intravenous chemotherapy which involves a hospital stay is the required treatment. Because of this, he will be unable to work and will likely not be able to return until the Fall. Short term disability unfortunately does not provide full pay. Some of his medical expenses are not covered and with the everyday necessities of life, money is tight.Dan is one of the most selfless people I have ever known and is always there for his girlfriend, friends and family. Help us help him in this tough time.Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help Dan and surround him with love is what is most important so he can focus on beating this thing, getting back on his board and back to living life to its fullest.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. #peindlstrong #imwithdanger #cancersucks
