Danford Family Support Fund

Hello, we are Rayburn Intermediate School in Bryan ISD and we are here to honor Lindy Danford's contributions to education, her students, her school families, her community, and also to support her family, whom she adored endlessly.

For those of you who knew Lindy, you absolutely knew her smile. It was what she led with everywhere she went. Her smile radiated love, joyfulness, kindness, and a sweet strength that magnetized her to all those around her. You never saw Lindy sad or angry, just compassionate and understanding.

Heaven gained a beautiful soul on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022. Upon hearing of her passing, our school children immediately cried with broken hearts as they realized that this amazing teacher would no longer greet them in the hallways, walk them to and from class, or smile through their challenges as she taught them to become strong and confident readers. Each of them mentioned how she was always smiling and even those who did not have her as one of their own teachers, knew exactly who she was because of some random kindness she showed them at unexpected times. Whether it was that she helped them find their class when they were lost, opened a locked door to get something they needed, made them laugh when they were sad, or helped them take deep breaths when they were mad, they all remembered something specific about her. Everyone knew Mrs. Danford's passion for being a teacher.

After sadness, came a strength in her students that only she could have given them. They started making cards, small paper flowers, writing their vocabulary words for her, and even decorated her classroom door with sweet messages and drawings. One little girl even went so far as to say that no one could sit in Mrs. Danford's chair because it is so special and no one deserved to have that seat in their room. They quickly turned their sadness to celebration of this amazing teacher who loved them so much! They began planning memorials and thinking of songs they could sing for her, books they could read to her, and messages they could write to her family. They remembererd her smile.

They will remember Mrs. Danford.

We will all remember Mrs. Danford.

Now, let's come together to support her family that she loved more than anything.

Lindy was a mom to three amazing children, a wife to a compassionate and giving husband, a daughter to loving parents, and a loving family member to so many others.

However you'd like to help, please do. We don't know what the future holds for the Danford's, but we'd love to bless them with fewer worries by showing them a little help in a way that they can use for what may come.
