Dane's , Mary Star of Sea School trip to DC

Donation protected
Hi, I am Dane Rodwell, and I'm 13 years old. I'm in 8th grade at Mary Star of the Sea school. I am an avid basketball player that would like to see the world. I really want to go on this school trip to Washington DC with my friends, because I think it is an amazing learning opportunity for me not just to grow academically but as a person.

I'm currently a science tutor on Wednesdays after school, and I'm gearing up to become a teacher's assistant in summer school. All of this is part of my plan to save up for the Washington DC adventure in April 2024. The total cost for the trip is $3964, Every bit helps, and I'm grateful for any support, thank you

Here's the exciting plan for our 7-day adventure to DC

Day 1: Jamestown Settlement
  • We are ready to step back in time and explore the awesome Jamestown Settlement, where it all began!
Day 2: Colonial Williamsburg
  • We're heading to Colonial Williamsburg for a cool study visit.
  • Then, we're checking out Thomas Jefferson's ‘Monticello’ estate. Imagine walking in the footsteps of one of the OG founding fathers
Day 3: United States Capitol
  • Time to visit the famous United States Capitol. It's the heart of our American democracy, and we get to see where all the big decisions go down
  • Next up is the Library of Congress. It's not your regular library - it's like a treasure trove of super cool stuff.
Day 4: National Archives
  • We're hitting up the National Archives, where they keep all the super important documents of the U.S. Like, we're talking the Declaration of Independence kind of important
Day 5: Arlington National Cemetery
  • Get ready for a visit to Arlington National Cemetery. It's a bit sad but very important. We're paying our respects to those who served in the military.
  • We're doing a Wreath Tribute. It's a special ceremony to honor and remember those who served.
Day 6: Washington’s Mount Vernon
  • We're wrapping things up with a trip to Washington’s Mount Vernon, the place where George Washington lived! How cool is that?
This trip is going to be amazing, filled with friends, history, cool places, and awesome experiences.
