My name is Dane Hadsall and I am a Eagle Scout candidate for the local Scout troop 4058 in Coupeville Washington. I've been in scouts since first grade as a tiger cub. As I approach age 18, it is time for my Eagle project and to enter the next chapters of my life . To reach the final rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout, I must develop and lead a service project that benefits the community.
I have been given a great opportunity for a project to carry out on behalf of the Whidbey Camano Land Trust.
I will be leading my project, which will be the construction of two joint turnpikes. These would be located at the end of the Bounty Loop trail in the Trillium Community Forest in Freeland. The location of where the project would be done is a very swampy area during the wetter seasons that discourages hikers from keeping on the existing trail or from hiking at all. With the construction of these two turnpikes, it would allow for more hiking to be done during the wetter seasons and keep on the trail.
I plan on these turnpikes being built during the month of July 2025 and finished up before August 2025. To do this I will need the materials and will not be able to afford it by myself. I am asking the community of Whidbey Island or anyone that's interested in keeping the trails hikable to consider donating to this cause. If you are unable to donate please consider sharing the fundraiser so that I will be able to go through with my project and help improve the community,
Any unused funds will go directly to the Whidbey Camino Land trust in a donation form.
