It can be hard to find true acceptance, but maybe a horny dog can help.
Hi my name is Hosanna and I am delighted to share that Dandelions and Poppy will return for 3 fantastic nights at The Hope Theatre! On September 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
I wrote this piece when I was struggling to accept who I am and then I realized that if sheep can be gay by God so can I! I am lucky enough to have amazing and talented friends and who are both actors and directors working to bring this story to life. We want to make this funny play that is about queer joy, friendships and heartbreak an unforgettable run. This peice means the absolute world to me and I want to share it with you in the best light possible!
Any donations would be immensely appreciated! And it's pride month so do support local queer art if you can. I'll repay you by making you laugh and cry in the theatre in September. It's something you won't forget.
So many thanks in advance and read below to hear more about the play!!
Dandelions and Poppy is a very funny queer coming-of-age story about two girls and a horny gay dog called Dandelion. Lesbian doggy style committed by her new puppy Dandelion forces Connie to confront some uncomfortable truths. 1. Her dog is gay 2. So is she. Connie is navigating her sexuality and idea of coming out to her religious mother with the help of Poppy, her best friend who’s a little too cool to be talking about big gay feelings. Not forgetting Dandelion, a dog that has zero inhibitions about humping other girl dogs in the public park. Two teenagers giggle and fight their way through internalized homophobia, religious beliefs, fear of disappointment, love and changing relationships, all on a park bench. Dandelions and Poppy will have you laughing and crying as this story is ultimately about the joys of friendship and finding yourself through unlikely sources. It can be hard to find true acceptance from those you want it from the most, but maybe a horny dog can help.
