Look out world!!
I, Bridgette Monee', have a passion for dance that is insatiable. As a rising Bay Area artist, I am emerging from San Francisco State University with a BA in Dance. During my undergraduate studies, I have worked with youth in summer programs, choreographed work presented at the SFSU student showcase (2016) and University Dance Theatres spring concert (2017), attended a national college dance conference and apprenticed for a professional dance company, Dimensions Dance Theatre. My success as a dancer has led me the opportunity to be apart of the Urban Bush Women Summer "You, Me, We:
Understanding Internalized Racial Oppression and How it Manifests in Our Artistic Community"
Leasership Institute in New York City and travel to Ghana for a dance mission! Hard work pays off, and mine has only begun. Here's to the next chapter of life, dance and pursuing dreams!
All donations will go towards airfare, lodging, transporation, food and travel neccessities.
You can hear stories about my experiences at SFSU in the following link to understand the presence of racial oppression in the arts and the importance of finding my roots in dance.
