DanceSpace Concert Series Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Anna Marie Bekolay and I am a musician who has found a balanced way to manage chronic pain through dance and movement. I have explored improvised movement and dance for many years beginning with a class & continuing with a group of friends and on my own too. My personal movement practise is an almost daily event and I also find great relief when able to connect with others through dance-play! This was part of my inspiration for starting this concert series: DanceSpace Concert Series. It is about spreading Joy, it is about inviting audience members to either sit and absorb the music or to choose to "chair dance" moving in their seats during the concert, or to get up and dance or move in the space at the concert.
I have had great response to the 1st 3 concerts in the series. And, I'm asking for help to produce the next 2 concerts. I saved $2500 over the course of 2-3 years to start the series and each concert costs between $2500 and $4500+ to produce. I have used up most of what I saved to start this concert series and have not yet made money from it. The next concert is planned for October 20th, 2024: In the Golden Age of Piracy 1680-1720! I am asking for donations to help produce this concert and the next one. Donations in any amount will make a difference! Even $5 makes a difference and adds up if many people are able to donate that amount or more!
Here's a cost breakdown:
$500-$800 to rent performance space for 1 rehearsal and 1 performance
$900+ promotional costs including photos and video at the event and posters.
$1670-2950 for 4 to 9 performers: performer fees including rehearsals and performance
Thank you in advance and hope to see you out at a DanceSpace Concert sometime!
Here's what I do to inspire the audience to move - a short bit at the beginning of the concert: improvised vocalise & dance/movement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EBNjX-7S8M
