Jerry Daniel: Dances with Steel
Donation protected
As many of you know, we lost a great artist, teacher, and kind soul when Jerry Daniel passed on last week. For all of us who knew Jerry or crossed his path or were inspired by the grace and beauty of his artwork, we realize how special Jerry was and how he positively affected our lives in so many ways. Not only did Jerry bestow upon us the beauty of his artistic vision and sculpture, both privately and publicly, but he also blessed us with his kindness, the fruits of his many skills, and his willingness to share his time and talents with others.
Despite the fact that Jerry had been fighting cancer for some time, we thought that we would have his presence for much longer. Even through the repeated hospitalization for pneumonia and other problems, he kept his positive spirit intact, and he was making progress in his battle with the cancer before other problems manifested themselves and took him from us. During this lengthy period, Jerry was unable to work, something that disturbed him deeply, perhaps even more than the pain and discomfort itself. Jerry always prided himself on being able to provide for his family.
Jerry could not have asked for a more loyal and constant supporter than his wife, Lori Cadwallader. Now, as if the loss of Jerry were not enough, considerable medical bills, including Jerry’s chemotherapy, bouts with pneumonia, and numerous hospital stays, along with memorial service costs and other expenses, add to the burden of losing Jerry.
This fund will help to ease the additional stress and trauma of struggling with what seem to be overwhelming expenses after having lost a long-time husband and companion. Beyond these practical concerns, however, this fund provides a way for all of us who love Jerry and whose lives have been blessed by his friendship and mentorship to show our gratitude and admiration for a truly unique artist, teacher, and human being.
We hope that you will join us in contributing to this fund out of affection and respect for Jerry, as well as support for the Cadwallader-Daniel family.
