(OGN) feels that nobody should ever have to miss a chance to DANCE due to life circumstances beyond their control, especially, artists from starkly underrepresented populations, youth, the LGBTQUIA community, and minority groups across the globe.

Traditional Dance is a powerful ally for developing positive attributes in a growing child and the ever evolving adult. Dance is innate in all of us. As children, we move naturally. We move to achieve mobility, we move to express a thought or feeling, and we move because it is joyful and feels wonderful. As adults we often call on dance when thoughts or emotions are too powerful for words. It embodies one of our most primal connections to our ancestral heritage and provides a non-verbal historical gateway to understanding and acceptance of ourselves and others.
* Any proceeds not used for the Drum & Dance Folklore series will be allocated to our sister project using traditional African Drum education as therapy for veterans suffering from Post- traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE:
Universal Language, is a hosted travel dance series that will investigate how the migration and assimilation of peoples changed the dynamic of that society through dance and music. Our host Loren Livick will delve into the dances, the music, and customs that embody the essence of a communities’ identity. The season will link each episode by tracing the migration of peoples and their commonly shared customs. We will discover the roots of ancient dance traditions and draw conclusions about how those traditions are still present in today’s contemporary society. Although humans do not speak the same language, there is the Universal Language of dance that unites us all.
