Dance World Cup - Starlight Academy

We are thrilled to announce that our students have earned the prestigious opportunity to represent Team England and compete at the Dance World Cup in Burgos, Spain! The DWC represents over 120,000 competitors from 66 countries who compete firstly at their country qualifiers and only the very best make it to the world finals, it really is the Olympics of the dance world.

The Starlight Story

Our DWC journey highlights:

· This is our 5th year competing with Team England.

· We are World Champions and have brought home gold medals in Ballet, Acro and Song and Dance, along with multiple bronze, silver and top ten placings.

· For 2025 we have qualified with a record number of dances across multiple genres and age groups.

· Our 2025 team is our biggest yet and includes dancers from Cornell School of dance who happily accepted our invitation to join our super talented and hard working team.

The Event

Dance World Cup 2025 takes place July 3rd – 12th in the beautiful city of Burgos, Spain. The scale of the event is enormous, we will be promoting English dance culture on an international stage, to a global audience both in person and via the livestream links.

Whilst families heavily fund the travel and accommodation, there are still a number of substantial costs such as entry fees, costumes, team kit …..

Your support, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. The team continue to fundraise relentlessly in addition to their extensive rehearsal schedule. Your generosity would go a long way to our dedicated dancers achieving their dreams of performing on the world stage!
