To her great honor, Emma has been chosen by Team Canada to join the National Team representing Canada in the World Dance Championships in Warsaw Poland, December 01-13 2017.
As a Competative dancer, the oppertunity to represent her country at this incredible Global event is a dream come true!
Emma currently trains with Dance Inc. Competitive Dance Team of Ajax Ontario in all styles of dance including solo and team events. Through diligence and hard hard work Emma has achieved many accomplishments in her dance career having competed and won in regional and National dance events in Canada and the United States.
Now, following a rigorous selection process, Emma has been chosen by the Canadian National Dance Team from hundreds of talented dancers from across Canada to represent her country at the prestigious World Dance Championships.
The International Dance Organization (IDO), is a World Dance and Sport Federation with a membership of over 90 Nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers, from six continents. The best dancers from around the World will be competing for the World Champion Title!
Unfortunately, unlike in some nations, Dance is not recognized in Canada as a Sporting Event, even though dancers must train many hours a day up to 7 days per week. Competators have to be as flexible as any gymnast, as graceful as any figure skater and as dedicated as any Olympic athlete. Dancers of this caliber have trained month after month for years to achieve a level of skill that will allow them to represent our Country with pride at the World Level.
Each dancer is required to raise $3650.00 plus in Canadian dollars to cover all travel, (air & ground), rehearsal, coaches, Team Canada jackets, hotels and Canadian and International entry fees.
With The World Championships being held in Warsaw this year our Canadian Dollar must be converted to the Polish Zloty with additional expenses charged through the IDO in Euros.
Each dancer is required to obtain their own sponsors as Team Canada has been unsuccessful in obtaining major sponsorship or Government Support of any kind for this event.
Team Canada choreographers not only produce World level choreography but also strongly emphasize good sportsmanship. Dancers are selected not only for their dance ability but as Ambassadors for the Nation and must have the dance skill and level of sportmanship to represent Canada with honor.
Any amount that you could donate to help sponsor this talented dancer from your community would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. As previously stated, The International Dance Organization (IDO), is a World Dance and Dance-Sport Federation with a membership of over 90 Nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers, from six continents.
As Canada celebrates its 150th birthday, please help us support Emma to represent Canada at this highly competative World class event.
