A second grader taking her first bow. A senior center turning its common room into a dance floor. A salsa crew and a bhangra troupe sharing the same block on Avenue of the Americas. That's Dance Parade. We believe dance belongs to everyone, and it belongs in the street for all to see.
Thanks to generous support from our Board of Directors, you can quadruple your impact through December 31. For every gift from an individual, the Board adds three times that amount, up to $10,000 in gifts. Give $50 and the Board adds $150, for $200 of impact that helps more teaching artists bring dance to deserving schools.
In classrooms and community rooms. This year our teaching artists led about 25 free dance programs in public schools, senior centers and community organizations across New York City, double the year before. Many of their students go on to dance in the parade.
For the freedom to dance. Working alongside the Hospitality Alliance and other partners, Dance Parade helped persuade Governor Hochul and the State Liquor Authority to end outdated restrictions on dancing in bars and restaurants. It was a milestone decades in the making, and we're not done protecting it.
On parade day. Last May, more than 10,000 dancers representing about 110 dance styles filled the streets of Manhattan, followed by more than 120 performances at DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park. On Saturday, May 15, 2027, the 21st Annual Dance Parade & Festival returns, free for everyone.
Your gift keeps New York dancing:
