"Dance Is Life" • Hustle Monday Disco

I come before you in a moment of gratitude to first and foremost be alive and secondly to share the passion and love for life with you. 

 

If you probably haven’t figured out by now I am extremely passionate about hustle dance and disco music and their history and heritage in American dance, music, and club culture. For me dance is my life. I live to dance and dance to live. Dance IS life.

 

“Dance Is Life” is a social dance party created as a service to providing the life-giving, life-sustaining, vital force that dance and music gives to those who participate. It is centered in the practice of partner touch dancing, namely Hustle, and it’s continued importance as a basic human need for in-person interaction, expression and play. 

 

This is a communal voluntary service to you, our community of dance-music enthusiasts alike and any new potential interests. All are welcome to enter this safe and celebratory space to engage with the NYC social dance community. I am honored to be working with a team of passionate and talented beings of light and love who are committed to this mission of facilitating communal joy in culturally historical spaces of social partner dance among multi generational groups of people.

What are we asking for? The basic necessary supplies and equipment needed to facilitate a viable outdoor social dance party:

 

2 battery powered wireless speakers

 

Portable folding table and chair

 

Equipment cases and strollers 

Transportation of equipment back-and-forth

 

Insurance

Again, this is a communal voluntary service. No one is getting paid for their services! We ask in the spirit of communal support if it is in your heart and means to please donate to the service of FREE dance-music celebration.

 

Even more so, we ask and welcome you to bring your positive energy to the Bethesda Fountain every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month to elevate the space and revitalize Hustle and all social dance engagement in Central Park, NYC.
