Women and people assigned female at birth struggle to access menstrual products due to financial constraints or societal stigma. Dignity Grows helps support women dealing with period poverty by making it possible to pack bags containing “6 comprehensive hygiene products and 2 menstrual hygiene necessities...” They charge $10 to the partnering organization for each disassembled bag-making kit. At Conservatory of Dance, we as a community strive to help women affected by the issue. As a student at Wilton High School (Connecticut), I am not very exposed to this issue, but I still want to help. I am a dancer at Conservatory of Dance and am partnering with both the studio and Dignity Grows to create a long-lasting, impactful annual event for a final project in one of my classes - however, if you couldn't tell already, this goes far beyond school.
