Irish Dance for Cancer

We are setting up this page for our dancing teacher, Elizabeth, who has recently been diagnosed with lobular cancer.
Elizabeth was the founder of Mc Conomy school of dancing, over forty years ago. She is the rock of the school & the strongest person we know. Elizabeth’s husband, Don, was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease & she became his main carer. In July 2019, Elizabeth was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Lobular Cancer. We are all devastated. She has since undergone lymph node surgery. She will now undergo extensive chemotherapy & radiotherapy over the next 12 months. In true ‘Elizabeth’ style, she remains so strong, positive & is still giving orders from the bedside.
We miss her in class every day!
We have set up this page in an attempt to ease the financial burden Elizabeth & Don are now faced with, as they have both lost their livelihood.
Elizabeth loves Irish Dancing. It has been her passion her entire life. A passion she passed onto us & our children at Mc Conomy school of Dancing. What better way to show our support than to ask you all to upload a Dancing video, class message, or any little clip to cheer her up & help her through her fight. They can be uploaded to Irish Dance for Cancer Facebook page.
We will also be raising money for MacMillan Cancer at Ireland’s Northwest Championships 2019 (Sunday 13 October, Derry) & Elizabeth’s daughter, Tara, will be shaving her head live onstage at the event, in support of her mother.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!!
