Dance Education in Germany
Hello!
I'm Sabrina, 18 and I'm an aspiring dancer from Brazil, currently in Germany doing an exchange year with Rotary International. Rotary is a organization that since its foundation (1905) have been helping the communities of the world, developing many different projects. One of these projects is the " Youth Exchange Program" the one I'm part of now.
Before I came to Germany, my parents couldn't afford sending me on exchange, my family was never rich, but they've always tried to give us everything they could, many doors are being opened because of them. I wouldn't be here today, if it were not for my family. But also, I had many friends and other family members that helped me to be here today, people who believed on me.
I'm grateful for all of them.
Something I've learned in the past few years is that we don't go anywhere without other people, everything that happens in our life, it was a result of a collective work.
I like to think that this new part of my life that is to come, is coming with all of you that are about to help me. You are all also part of it.
Well, I did an audition to Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich and I was accepted (oh yeah!). Studying at Iwanson for me is just... I don't know, it's just going to bring me so many possibilities, so many doors will open and I will grow, as a dancer and as a human being.
I have my plans for later in life, I don't really wanna stay in Germany forever. Getting back to Brazil to apply the knowledge I get here is ticking out my head. I believe that any art expression can help changing the life of many people, and that what I'm into for later on. For now, getting this knowledge is the most important part.
Unfortunately, I have to think about the costs of it. They're not small.
The school, on a year basis contract, gave me 6 months free of fee. That's already a huge help, a scholarship for the following year is also possible depending on my development during the first year.
but after that I'll have to pay -590 euros per month, which is a lot for me.
Also, I still have other months and costs like: Shared student apartment (WG), food, school materials, city public transportation, visa fees w/ financial comproval, health insurance, airplane ticket.
I made an approach to the values:
(values in Euros)
Shared student apartment (WG) - 3600/yr
Health Insurance (Reisekrankenversicherung) - 300/yr
School annual fee - 3540/yr *
Other costs** - 2500/yr (approx.)
Airplane - 300
* for the first year
** food, school materials, daily life costs.
I'll be hugely grateful for your help, any value makes a difference. :)
If a thousand people donate me 1 euro I'll have 1000 euros. So let's make a little be a lot :)
sharing also helps, therefore more people can see it!
My classes start on 16/09/2019. Taking into consideration the visa time, and other bureaucracies, I wish to reach my goal until half of june.

Huge thanks to all teachers that helped me build the dancer I'm today, also for those who believed I could make it real.
Most importantly, my family, that is with me in every moment of my life and that always supported me over any circumstances.
I also thank Rotary a lot for giving me the opportunity to be part of this wonderful global community.
I wouldn't have gotten here without all of you!
