Dance at Delafield: New Grassroots Dance Venture

We are a group of dancers and choreographers in the Madison area who are filling a local theater group's desire to bring dance to its community. An hour outside of Madison and thirty minutes outside of Milwaukee, Summer Stage of Delafield is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization that provides high-quality theatrical, musical, family, and workshop events at reasonable prices.

On September 15 and 16, the final event of the summer 2023 season, we'll present an array of dance styles: the graceful elegance of ballet, the poignant complexity of modern, the fiery passion of tango, the vibrant rhythms of jazz, and the lyrical charm of contemporary. Our performance will not only cater to all tastes, it will take our audience on an emotional rollercoaster they will remember long after the lights fade.

Though we are eager to put a show together for the people who live in the heart of Lake Country, a community that would otherwise not have local professional dance, there is a lot of preparation and money that goes into the process. We are a true grassroots organization starting with zero money and relying on the goodwill of friends, families, and business partners to launch our show. Ticket prices are not enough to cover the costs of paying dancers and stage, sound, and lighting crew, so we are asking for the generosity of art lovers to help us make our uplifting show a reality. Our show will inspire a community but we need your help to make it a success!

The production of a dance show is not only dependent on choreographers and dancers, but equally important is the behind-the-scenes technical crew. Lighting is a vital element in all theatrical productions, as it enhances visual storytelling, sets the mood, and guides the audience's attention.

The full amount raised on GoFundMe will go towards the fee for our brilliant lighting crew, which includes their hourly rate during set up, show time, and break down.
