Hi friends and family! I'm starting this page to help me participate in this amazing opportunity I've been given!
I auditioned and was accepted to travel to Berlin to take part of the B12: Research or Die workshop festival! This includes workshops, research residencies, and performance projects which, with your help, I will be able to fully participate in!
My goal is to travel to Berlin with a backpack of clothes, my laptop, and some equipment. I look forward to expanding my understanding and facility in dance in a new environment which is a central hub for dance at the moment, as well as bringing my technical expertise and understanding of the body and performance to create something new, powerful, and something that will impact my own and others' artistry in a way that I feel confident I will be sharing with other artists when I return!
Alongside dancing and performing and taking lots of yoga (yay!) I will be able to bring and evolve my music practice in a new environment. I will be working with live music making, and working to accompany dance classes so that my experience in Berlin is well rounded, while focused on the aspects of the art that I feel most passionate about.
Any support of my goal will be going towards payment of the programs and travel, essentially making the trip possible! I will hopefully be traveling to Berlin in mid-June, and returning mid-July. Graduating from Cal Arts May 2017 opens the door to this adventure. With your help, I will be able to continue collaborating and growing in order to create art experiences that impact me, my community and the world we all live in.
