Dana's Stroke Recovery and Financial Strain

Hi, my name is Dana Garcia (Balczewski). In June 2023, a week after having a routine hysterectomy, I had to go back to the hospital due to similar issues as a stroke and was diagnosed with PRES (posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome). Sometime between my discharge on July 1st and August 22(2023), when I had a follow-up MRI,I had suffered a stroke. Within a few short weeks of that MRI, my neurologist called to let me know of the new diagnosis and I lost my job of 9 years. My husband had to find new work at that time as well. I lost my vision on the left side which has caused me to give up my driving privileges for safety. My neurologist moved and I saw a new one in March of this year and he validated all my feelings and concerns about my vision loss and the possibility for filing for disability, so I finally made the decision to do that. That can take months. But shortly after I filed, my husband lost his current job. He has been applying everywhere, and even had a couple interviews. No luck yet. We just need to survive until something gives. People did help us shrtly after we found this all out in September 2023 and it did help and we appreciated it, I also cashed out my 401k last year and it helped for a while. Bills and groceries are a necessity. Anything helps. Thank you all!

And just when we are drowning we got served with papers on the hospital stay from when this all started. So it feels like I'm pushed under. Help, share, pray!
