Dana's road to beating cancer

My mom Dana who is a mother of 5 and grandmother of 8 has been the rock of our family. She has always been there for us in every way she could to help us when we needed it and to push us to be the best that we can be. It hasn’t been easy as we have been through a lot along the way, but she never gave up. She is the kind of person that will help anyone in need even when she doesn’t have much to give without asking for anything in return. Now she needs help.

She was recently diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. This last month has been a rollercoaster ride for all of us. After receiving the diagnosis of cervical- cancer she also found out that she had a 14.5 cm cycst in her ovaries. They were able to remove that however the cancerous tumor is too large to remove through surgery. The doctors are confident that with 6 weeks of intense radiation and chemo she can beat this, but it will be a long battle for years to come to constantly get care to make sure it hasn’t returned. This is something that I was praying would never hit our family but it has, so we are doing our best to get through this one day at a time . Although she does have insurance there are costs that she will have to endure out of pocket. We are asking for any help that can be offered to cover cost for treatment costs which includes copays, prescriptions, special dietary and hygiene items, transportation costs, time off of work and everything else that we may encounter along this journey to beat this.
