This is a gofundme page set up for Dana Marie Craig by her friends and family. This page is to help out with any medical expenses and or bills that Dana will have as a result of her fight with Stage IV Cervical cancer. She was recently (Nov 2016) kicked off her insurance plan by her employer and will be moving over to a COBRA plan, with a high cost associated. Since she cannot work during this long treatment course, all funds donated will be applied to help support Dana and her family as she fights cancer.
While Dana remains strong in spirit through treatment, she also remains stubborn when it comes to asking for help. Knowing she is not in this fight alone, others and myself have encouraged her to allow us to put together this fundraising page. Being one of the caregivers supporting her through this grueling process, I can honestly tell you she is more than deserving of any and all help/support that comes her way.
Here is the background of her cancer journey thus far. Dana was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in April of 2016. Since being diagnosed, Dana's life has been extremely busy (to say the least) with Dr. appointments, tests and more tests. She completed her first round of radiation (20+ treatments) and chemotherapy (8 treatments) for the tumor on her cervix in July of 2016. With each treatment, she endured the pain, nausea and exhaustion we are told comes with this process. She remained her charming and witty self with amazing bravery and strength through it all. While waiting for the "all clear" PET scan to follow post treatment in Nov, Dana was rushed to ER in Oct to address severe leg pain that left her unable to walk. Unfortunately, in the ER she was diagnosed with a broken femur as a result of a tumor on her leg. The cancer spread! After a weeklong stay in the hospital and a new rod in her leg, she was thwarted right back in to the treatment rigor of radiation and chemotherapy. Right now planned to last through March of 2017. This cancer is not fair!!!!!!!!
Dana is a hard working; dedicated, single mom who has always put her daughters Morgan and Julienne above everything else in her life. She has always worked hard to provide for them and she has never asked for help! With the upcoming weeks/months of treatment Danas Drs. have informed her that she will not be able to work so money will continue to be tight! She needs your help with this fight against this awful cancer. If you cannot give monetarily, we ask that you keep Dana and her girls in your thoughts and prayers! The power of prayer is an amazing power!
