The BOLD Delta Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is hosting its 3rd annual Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant on November 7, 2025. It serves to recognize and uplift collegiate women who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership in their community, creativity, and community service. The pageant also serves as a fundraiser, with each contestant raising money for their pageant journey and to support their platform throughout the year.

My name is Danae Xynia Pate; I am a proud third-year Biochemistry major at the illustrious Spelman College from Atlanta, Georgia, and I am your lucky contestant number 7.

My platform, HEAL: Health Empowerment, Access, and Legacy, is centered on a Health Initiative that restores and strengthens trust between marginalized communities and healthcare systems. Trust in healthcare is essential, as many in our communities avoid care due to past mistreatment or a lack of access. This cause is personal to me — as a Type 1 diabetic, what once felt like a challenge has now become the very reason I’m passionate about medicine.

Through my initiative, alongside the men of Delta Kappa, we can educate college students on what trusted and accessible care looks like—and turn that awareness into action. By hosting mental health check-ins, organizing campus events that promote vaccination, and developing nutrition-based wellness programs, this chapter and I can help students take charge of their health while bridging the gap between care and community.
