My sister, Danae Oltmanns, and her family are in dire need of some help right now. A couple months ago, a mass was found on her stomach. It was non cancerous and determined that it could safely be removed through laproscopy. In the process, her stomach was physically twisted to where she could not digest anything. This was found out after being discharged and rushed back to the ER just days later. This discovery lead to another surgery being needed. This time, they opened her up and physically reshaped her stomach, leaving her with 17 staples from her sternum to her belly button. She had complained that the staples hurt and didnt feel right, but the nurses just kept telling her they looked fine. Anticipating her discharge, the doctor came in and found that all the staples were so badly infected that they needed to be removed. And on top of that, she contracted pnuemonia. After healing from that and doing well with her wound vac they put in after removing the staples, she finally got to come home again. A few days later, she went in for her wound vac appointment and was told that her wound vac was leaking and that she needed to be readmitted to the hospital. Not only was her wound leaking, but they also discovered that 4 of the incisions they made on her stomach were infected. All the meds she was sent home with were seeping out her wound to where the nurses were literally plucking half absorbed pills from her wound with tweezers! Danae is a beautiful person inside and out and is too young to be going through all this! She has two beautiful daughters who want their mommy to come home and stay home! Her husband, Jake, and his family have been so supportive and just absolutely amazing! But, there's only so much we can do without the support of others! Danae has been unable to work in weeks and may not be able to for quite some . Jake and his family's business is also being impacted since Jake has been unable to work a full schedule. They just bought their first home last year and now that's at risk. The bills are piling up and the income isn't coming in. This whole thing has put their entire lives on hold. But, as we all know, the world keeps spinning.  I hope that by creating this page, I can help share my sister's story and help take the financial burden off Danae and Jake right now. All they need to focus on is finding answers for her healing. Any help would greatly be appreciated! Prayers are always welcome too!
