DANA Valencia Victims Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Jason Noon and I want to show my international friends and family the devastation that has hit Valencia. I'm from Manchester but I have lived in this wonderful city for over 14 years.

I'm sure by now most of the news channels have forgotten about us. Unfortunately, here it is still very real. 221 confirmed deaths with more still missing. 130,000 cars to be scrapped and an infinite amount of damage to homes, schools, businesses, streets and sporting facilities etc not to mention the psychological damage that will live on forever.

Almost a month later and thousands are without homes, furniture, cars, electricity or money. You might be thinking 'that's terrible' but let me tell you it's a thousand times worse.

I've volunteered for 13 days so far in the most affected areas; Chiva, Aldaia, Massanassa, Benetusser, Alfafar and most recently I've spent a number of days in Paiporta, which was probably the hardest hit and has the highest death toll. I've been cleaning out garages and storage units - your mind wouldn't comprehend the loss. I've seen it with my own eyes and I cannot compute it.

As well as the volunteering I've spent almost a thousand euros of my own money so far. But the love and gratitude I've received for doing so from people that I've come to love and admire in the most difficult of circumstances has made it all worth while. And I won't be stopping any time soon.

But I want to do more and I'm asking you to give whatever you can, no matter how big or small. Every penny will either be donated to a local charity, given directly to people in need or I will buy equipment/goods myself to give to whomever needs it.

The photos attached are a drop in the ocean in terms of the scale of damage. The governments, both left and right, are useless. The affected people will never get back anything like what they've lost.
