Longtime cannabis pioneer, Dana Beal, was busted in Gooding County, Idaho, near Twin Falls, on January 15, 2024, charged with cannabis trafficking 50+ pounds of herb en route for NYC medical patients, and not having an Idaho cannabis tax stamp. Previously, we raised $10,000 for his bail with this GoFundMe. In February 2026, Dana Beal was sentenced for up to nine years in Idaho State Prison and fined $5,556. He is currently being held by the Idaho Department of Corrections in the Mountain View Transformation Center in Boise, Idaho, where is forced to take two classes: "Thinking 4 A Change" and "Adult Substance Abuse Cognitive Behavioral Therapy." Dana says his sentence MAY be cut and he COULD be released as early as January 2027 IF he pays his fine and successfully completes his classes in the "transformation center." Dana has been ejected from one class already, and he has been forced to start it again. This GoFundMe and Dana's community have paid a thousand dollars per month, with $3,000 of Dana's fine paid so far, and we are working on raising the remaining $2,556 to pay off his fine. We have also been paying $250-300 per month for Dana to make phone calls and for his commissary items, and Dana has us send him a couple of books each month.
