Dan's Heart
Donation protected
On August 26, 2016 I wrote a GoFundMe for Shannon Clarke, now here I am four years later writing one for Dan Clarke. Dan and Shannon have spent the last four years fighting Shannon's fight against breast cancer. She just finished her last reconstructive surgery this past year. Due to the stress of the chemo and radiation she moved to a part time job which was less taxing on her body.
But this isn't Shannon's story. On Friday March 6th, Dan had an abnormal cardiac incident. They brought him to United-Nasseff Heart Center. And he is still there. Originally they thought there was no damage from the incident and they would just do an angioplasty and he would be out of there. But things have progressed for the worse. They admitted him as they realized his heart disease was much more dispersed than originally thought. There were too many blockages for them to stent and they decided he would have to have a bypass. His heart rate and blood pressure are not cooperating and they are having trouble keeping it under control. He has been moved to the ICU and an aortic balloon pump has been inserted. Dan's status has been elevated to critical and he is going in for an emergency 5 vessel bypass tomorrow morning.
Please keep them in your thoughts over these next few critical days.
He will be in the hospital for multiple weeks and we don't know the extent of the damage. Recently, the company Dan worked for closed down and although he just got a new job his benefits hadn't started yet. Dan and Shannon are still struggling with the bills from the numerous surgeries that Shannon has undergone. These new set of medical bills are beyond overwhelming.
We are asking you, his dear friends and family, for help. Any little bit helps. If you would prefer not to go through GoFundMe you can directly contact Nea Moyer. Anyone who knows Dan knows that he would do anything for his friends and family. He is always there to assist in any project. All funds from this fundraiser will go directly to Dan and Shannon for assistance with what will be substantial medical bills.
