Any and all that knew my dad knew what a fighter he was. Sadly, his fight is over and he is now at peace. All of his life he has been fighting not only for himself, but for everyone he deemed worthy (which was quite a few). As a family member remarked today, if my dad thought it was the right thing to do, then it wasn't a question of whether or not to do it- you did it. While remaining the strongest man I have ever encountered, he remained the most grateful as well. His love for my mom was unrivaled, and his love for my brother and I is something every child dreams of. He was forever grateful for his life, and often in shock that he had achieved such love and happiness.
As is sadly the case, funeral arrangements are not cheap. We want to celebrate my dad. We want to celebrate the happiness, love, and joy that he brought. We humbly ask those who are able to donate to help us achieve this. With an ongoing medical history such as my dad's, keeping one step ahead financially has been difficult for our family.
Anything donated would be used to fund my dad's funeral and wake, and anything after that would go to my mom who has stood steadfast by his side, holding his hand for 30 years. Thank you.
