My name is Shelly Brugger and I am fundraising on behalf of my sister Joann Ace-Schraufnagel, who unexpectedly lost her husband, Dan Schraufnagel, on September 6, 2025.
Dan is the most loving husband to my sister Joann and his two beautiful daughters, Leslie (9) and Claire (8). Dan would do anything to make Joann, and his daughters dreams come true; he truly was the rock in their entire world. When people ask about Dan, you can guarantee to hear that Dan always had a smile on his face, would do anything for anyone, extremely hard worker and how much he could eat! Dan was very active in the horse show industry supporting Joann, Leslie, Claire and numerous friends along the way. People recognized him for being the best handy man around and always willing to help. He definitely was the best right-hand man for Joann, his girls, and everyone at the shows. Dan was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, and boating. Dan always looked forward to sitting in his deer stand or being on the lake fishing with his wife and children. He also enjoyed weightlifting, combining, grilling and most importantly spending time with his family.
As you can imagine, this unexpected loss brings upon unforeseen financial burdens to my sister and her daughters. We are asking for any help that you may be able to give to help cover living expenses to keep life as normal as possible for his busy and adventurous young daughters. All money raised will go directly to Joann, to help with Leslie and Claire's future.
Dan will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for his family. His laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him. Dan’s never-ending generosity and carefree smile will be missed forever but will always be in our hearts!
