Dan pay his medical expenses

Daniel was racing in the Ironman 70.3 Mallorca on Saturday 7th May 2022 and had a very nasty accident on the bike. He is unsure of exactly what happened, but was flipped over the handlebars and has multiple injuries, which required 4hrs of surgery on Sunday.

The surgery was largely successful, and now he has to stay in hospital for 48hrs to be monitored.

The cost of the surgery is estimated to be £15,000. Not to mention he is due to be getting married on 4th June!!!

Daniel had 3 types of insurance;

Velosure (bike insurance) only cover if you lose a limb or die!

Admiral (personal travel insurance) are saying he was racing so won't pay out.

British triathlon (with whom he has the highest level of cover) don't pay medical expenses! But have offered around £250 for his broken bones!

 

I know insurance companies are historically tough to get to pay out, but all 3 saying no makes my blood boil!

 

I want to try and get some money together to help him pay for his medical costs. Please give whatever you can. If he does manage to reclaim the  money, i will just get gofundme to return the money.
