Dan Matthews fight against stage iv
Donation protected
26 November update:
Dan is finally home! Last Thursday, he was admitted to the hospital, struggling to breathe and fearing he might never come home again. But true to the fighter he is, Dan came home tonight! He is now under the comfort care of hospice and is looking forward to a Thanksgiving dinner prepared by his son-in-law, Travis, and being surrounded by his favorite girls—his loving wife and daughters. Many of his grandchildren, his mother-in-law, and his sister and brother-in-law will also be there to share this special time with him. The road ahead is heartbreaking for the Matthews family. Dan’s final wish is to have a viewing back home in the Quad Cities, where his friends, family, and co-workers can gather to say goodbye. As you can imagine, the cost of transporting Dan from Florida and holding a funeral is overwhelming. On top of these challenges, Tiffaney is currently on FMLA, taking time away from work to care for Dan full-time. This has added financial strain to an already difficult situation. Every single contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in helping fulfill Dan’s final wish. Words cannot express how much we appreciate the love, support, and generosity that has already been shown. If you’re able to donate, please consider giving through the GoFundMe link. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for standing by Dan and the Matthews family during this incredibly difficult time.

The Matthews family are the first to help anyone. If you are family, friend or an acquaintance, you know that Dan and Tiffaney are the type of people who would give the shirts off their backs, love deeply and can make friends wherever they go.
Now they need us all. Friday afternoon, Dan called a friend to take him to the hospital after experiencing several muscle spasms, dizziness and vision issues. Within a few hours, their whole lives have changed. Dan has been diagnosed with stage IV cancer, in the lungs. colon, liver and brain. He has a hell of a fight ahead!
Dan had been working at the barefoot bay golf course. He is a regular around the bay, meeting many through weekly cornhole, at the course, at trivia or the lounge. He will be out of work during this fight.
Tiffaney has been working as a secretary at southwest middle where she is adored by staff and students. She will be on unpaid leave to take care of Dan.
Many of you have already reached out on how to help because you know these two- and they are impossible not to love. Please help us to make things easier at this time so they can put their focus where it needs to be and take some of the stress off while they prepare for a difficult journey ahead.
All funds will be used to help them pay their bills during this time.
