Dan Major Injury Vet Bill
Donation protected
My dog, Dan, recently suffered a severe injury that resulted in a deep T-shaped laceration, about 10 inches long, along with a significant skin flap wound. This type of injury is particularly concerning because it carries a serious risk of avascular necrosis, a condition where the blood supply to the affected area is disrupted, potentially causing the skin and even the underlying bone to die. If avascular necrosis develops, it could lead to severe complications, including the possibility of needing to amputate Dan's leg to save his life.
To give Dan the best chance at recovery, he’s currently on a regimen of 21 pills a day to manage pain and prevent infection. However, the cost of these medications and the ongoing veterinary care is overwhelming. I’m reaching out for support to help cover these expenses and ensure Dan gets the treatment he needs to avoid the worst outcomes, like avascular necrosis progressing further. He may also need more surgery.
