Dan Machalick Medical Bills

Good afternoon,

For those of you that know Dan, you will know that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 T-Cell Lymphoma in August of 2022. Fall of 2023 they received the amazing news that he was in remission. Celebrations were had and life resumed as normal. Dan returned to his teaching position at Tuloso Midway High School and Venita finished her RN degree and began looking for full time employment.

Unfortunately, the remission was extremely short lived. His long term partner, Venita, took him back to the ER and after many stays in the hospital, tests and numerous doctors, they received the news that the Lymphoma was back and not only angry but also "refractory" meaning that while the intense chemo sessions would "keep it at bay" it would not kill the cancer. Dan is currently undergoing strenuous chemo sessions lasting 24 or more hours. He has received a referral to MD Anderson as the doctors in Corpus are no longer able to assist him with his needs. Dan will need many more treatments along with a full bone marrow transplant. As many will tell you, this is a financially draining disease. They have made it over a year supporting each other financially, but the funds are running low. Dan's inability to work due to the cancer as well as Venita's inability to work so she can take Dan to all of his doctor's appointments and treatments has become a burden on their financials. They will also now be paying for stays, food, travel back and forth to MD Anderson in Houston as well as all out of pocket costs that Dan's insurance will not cover. Their family humbly comes asking for assistance to get them through this hard time. Any bit helps to keep them afloat over the next year on their journey to kick cancer's butt and get Dan back to living and loving life.
