From Melissa 5/31:
It’s with heavy hearts as we share that my husband, Daniel, and father to our three children, Aspen, Eli and Silas has gone home to be with Jesus. He was in the ICU for 40 days and fought the hardest fight. After several surgeries and procedures, his lungs just couldn’t take any more. Please continue to send prayers as we navigate life without him. He was the best husband and father he could be. He always put others before himself and his character will definitely live on through how he raised our children. We will have a forever void in our hearts but know with peace that he is no longer suffering but is with the Lord.

On April 22nd Dan was not feeling well. After several hours of being sick (from what they thought was a stomach virus), his wife Melissa convinced him to go to the hospital. That was the start of a long spiral of events that left Dan in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He has suffered internal bleeding, a lung infection, and organ failure. On 4/26 he was airlifted to VCU in order to save his life. Thankfully the medical staff at VCU has been able to stabilize him.
(Updated May 8th) Dan is currently in the ICU with several machines supporting many of his organ functions, and has a very long road to recovery. Including what could be many more weeks in the ICU, and then a long road of physical therapy.
Dan is an amazing husband and father of three, and works as a Guidance Counselor at Stone Spring Elementary.
Currently, Dan's wife Melissa is staying in Richmond to be close to him, and his children are commuting two hours each way to see him as they finish up the school year. Your donation will help them with medical bills for the hospital stay and the long recovery to come. It will also help with the expenses associated with all the travel and hotel stays. Any amount will help. Please consider even a small donation.
