Hello,
I’m raising money for my very best friend Dan Kenney. He works as a truck driver and was in a terrible accident at work this Wednesday February 26th which has left him with a broken left shoulder (which may need surgery in 4 weeks), 5 broken ribs on his left side, 2 broken ribs on his right side, and a shattered pelvis in which they had to operate on in order to put it back together with plates, pins, and screws. He had to be extracted from his vehicle with the Jaws of Life, we almost lost him due to his injuries but luckily due to his quick thinking and bravery nobody else was hurt!
100% of the money raised will go to Dan to help him pay for expenses of everyday life as he begins his long road to recovery back to good health and back to work. The doctors haven’t even given him a time frame for full recovery, they’re just taking it day by day due to the severity of his injuries.
This fundraiser means so much to me because if the roles were reversed, I know Dan would do anything to help me, his parents, sister, brothers, close friends, family, and even strangers. He has the biggest heart of anyone I know, he’s never asked anyone for any help ever, and won’t be happy that I’m doing this. However, anyone who’s had something like this happen to yourself or someone close to you, you know how difficult it can be being out of work for a long period of time, which is why his family and I are taking it upon ourselves to do this.
What makes this situation so unique is that there’s much more to this story than Dan’s accident. His beautiful wife Kim got in a very bad car accident herself 4 years ago. From that day on Kim must use a walker to walk, can no longer drive a vehicle, gets extremely bad headache’s due to a horrible concussion from the accident, has never been able to return back to work, is unable to do every day tasks that the rest of us take for granted and due to her head injury has been subjected to ongoing seizures and a poor quality of life from what she was used to.
Kim’s life changed forever on that day and proves just how unfair life can be. Since that day Dan has been taking care of Kim’s every want and need while never asking for any help and being there for her day in and day out. Dan has become the sole breadwinner and sole caregiver to Kim and has done an amazing job providing a great life for both of them…and then this happens.
I would like to share my gratitude and appreciation to anyone who’s able to donate to this wonderful cause for my best friend until he’s back on his feet. No donation is too small, everything will help and go to very good use, so please join me in helping out one of the most caring, hardest working people I know.
