Dan Kelly Medical Fund

As long time family friends, and neighbors of the Kelly family, we are asking, on their behalf, for your help as they face a difficult circumstance.

A little over a year after losing his wife of 47 years, Dan Kelly suffered a major heart attack. Many of the medical professionals referred to his type of heart attack as “the widow maker.” Most people don’t survive this type of heart attack, but God must have a plan for Dan as he has survived it, barely. Dan’s heart suffered so much damage that he was in need of a heart pump in order to continue living. Prayers have been answered and Dan was able to receive a heart pump last week. This is a wonderful blessing, but has also added many financial strains on the family. Recovery from this type of surgery requires a one month hospital stay plus multiple follow up visits in Sacramento. It will also require 24 hour care from his family members at home after he is discharged from the hospital. While Dan is recovering in the hospital, his daughters will need to attend weekly trainings that will help them support him in his recovery when he returns home. His family members will also need to stay in a hotel close to the hospital in order to be Dan’s advocate during his hospital recovery. This will lead to large hotel, food and fuel expenses. Any financial assistance to help them with these expenses would be greatly appreciated.

Dan served our country in the Army and his community as a police officer with Chico PD. I’m hoping we can all show gratitude for his years of service by pulling together to help Dan and his family with their financial needs through this very tough recovery.
