We lost a friend, a father, a brother, son and a husband far too soon on October 20, 2021.

Dan Huckins was loved for his energy, creativity, quirkiness, and loyalty. Whether it was teaching one of his kids about supernovas and phosphorescent things at a young age or dropping everything he was doing to help a friend in need, Dan's caring nature always shone. He never met a stranger. He was the consummate tinkerer and overall kid at heart. I cannot think of a time when I would come over and he would not be incredibly excited to show me something he had made or a design he had improved on. He loved the outdoors, exploring and teaching his kids about all the wonders of nature.

Watching him play with his kids, seeing how happy and excited they all were together, is one of my fondest memories of Dan. Having had the privilege of calling Dan a friend for over 20 years, I will always remember him as a fun-loving guy, quick to give you a big hug (whether you wanted it or not, because you knew that was coming!).

Dan leaves behind a beautiful family who, like many who have experienced a tragedy like this, is in a time of need. Please consider donating and sharing a memory or two in remembrance of a bright light gone out far too soon. All proceeds will be to support his children and wife due to this sudden loss.
