Dan Harvey's Road to Recovery

Hi Folks, I am starting this on behalf of my father Dan Harvey.

For those of you that don't know, Dad was brought to the hospital on 8/30 while i was working (I'm an ER nurse and having a loved one come through those doors while you're working is any ER nurses worst fear) and at the time we weren't sure what was going on but the next day via MRI it was discovered that he had a stroke. He is home now after 3 days in the hospital and is in good spirits but has a long road ahead of him. He has some minor speech deficits and definitely some balance and coordination deficits. With speech and physical therapy he will likely get back to usual everyday tasks. However Dad is a roofer and has owned his roofing business for over 30 years. He is just 2 weeks shy of his 65th birthday and was still out there on roofs working his butt off and with no signs of stoping anytime soon. However a stroke puts a BIG halt to that for him...hense puts a BIG to his income! He has been and still is a pilar of his community and in the past has served as a volunteer on the Arlington Rescue Squad for several years has been on the Arlington Select Board for 30 years (i think longer but not positive). He has spent countless hours serving his community. Now he needs your help even though he would never ask for it and will probably kill me for doing this. We don't know what the next few months or the future holds but any little bit will help. We appreciate any support through this time. Like i said he is in good spirits and is as determined as ever but getting back on a roof is probably not in the cards for him.
