Dan Hannon Benefit

We hope you will join us in supporting our dear friend, Dan Hannon, and his family as he continues to battle throat cancer. 

Dan was first diagnosed with cancer on his right vocal cord August 10, 2016.  Immediately, he had an endoscopic excision followed by 28 radiation treatments.  Dan continued with routine follow ups every month for a year. 

In January of 2018, after an abnormal scope, it was determined that more surgery was necessary.   Pathology from this procedure revealed that the cancer had returned.  Therefore, he underwent another surgery in February 2018 to remove that cancer. 

After 8 months of further close monitoring, it was felt that Dan should undergo yet another endoscopic procedure.  At that time, it was discovered that cancer had spread to the left vocal cord.  He was referred to specialists at Columbia in New York and Vanderbilt in Nashville.  He is now scheduled for a much larger and more invasive surgery on January 31st at Vanderbilt University Hospital.

Post op will include several weeks at Vanderbilt.  Physical, speech, and respiratory therapy will continue at home.  He will have home health for breathing assistance and tube feedings.  He will have 3-6 months of no work or significant activity. 

We are raising money to help cover the cost of the surgery that insurance does not cover. In addition to that, we want to assist with travel, lodging, loss of work, and everyday expenses the Hannon family will incur while Dan is in recovery.

Dan is an amazing man!  He is always willing to help others and has been a driving force in the Atlanta music scene for many years.  His talent as a singer, songwriter and producer is only second to his dedication to his family...his wife, Shelley, and two boys, Jake and Eli.  Please help us support a man that has been that same support for so many others.
