Dan Hamlin To Pay bills & install med equipment

Hi, my name is Phil, and I'm raising funds for my brother Daniel Hamlin, who recently had a leg amputated.
Dan has had diabetes for many years and has had many complications due to his illness. A few weeks ago, a pocket of fluid developed in his right foot. A staph infection soon spread throughout his leg. His temperature shot up to 105F, and he slipped into septic shock. His internal organs began to fail, and he was placed in a medically induced coma. It was feared that IF he were to survive, he would be on a ventilator and possibly be bedridden for the remainder of his life. Through the miracle of modern medicine, some of the most awesome doctors and nurses in the world, and to the mighty hand of God, Dan has made an incredible come back from death's door. The infection has subsided. He has regained the use of his lungs and internal organs. And though he may have some hard times ahead, there is the possibility that, with the help of a prosthetic, he may one day walk again.
Unfortunately, our finances have taken a dramatic turn for the worse because of all of this. Neither of us was employed at the time of Dan's illness. I was in the process of looking for work - and still am - and Dan did what he could on his disability. We were making ends meet, and I was ready to join the labor force. Still, since Dan's hospitalization, I've had to devote a considerable amount of time trying to keep things in order. I have to ferry items back and forth over the 140-mile round trip to Dan's rehabilitation clinic (in a gas-guzzling Ram pick-up truck at $5.50 a gallon) three times a week. And on top of it all, I have to look for work in a town where you're considered lucky to get 30 hours a week at minimum wage.
Before Dan can even return home, I will have to hire a contractor to install ramps and grab bars throughout the house and renovate the hallways and bathrooms so he can navigate the house in a wheelchair/walker.
We feel terrible having to ask others for help. We have always been the ones who have tried to help others... But we simply can't afford what we're going through.
