Dan Fletcher Family Fund
Donation protected
We are raising funds to help relieve a small portion of the heavy burden of a dearly-loved family in our local Church congregation. That burden includes recent medical expenses, current memorial expenses, and upcoming transitional living expenses necessary following the December 2, 2021 death of Dan Fletcher. Dan leaves behind his severely disabled wife, Carol, and his three adult children, Dana, Jamie, and Hana.
After experiencing a brain aneurysm and stroke in 2017, Carol suffers extensive disabilities, including extremely limited speaking, and significant inability to walk, to feed herself, or to take care of her daily needs.
At the time of Carol’s aneurysm, she had emergency insurance; however, this provided only enough to cover doctor bills, radiology, helicopter transportation, etc. Even with financial assistance, payments toward her astronomical hospital bill remain an ongoing burden.
Dan and all three of the children have all pulled together to contribute financially and to Carol’s care as much as they have been able.
However, about a year and a half ago, Dan’s ability to provide for his family declined significantly as his long-standing heart condition continued to deteriorate. Doctors gave him less than a year to live. Yet as much as he possibly could, he worked tirelessly for his family. After the installation of a heart pump in 2020, Dan began to experience incurable systemic infection, leading to extended hospitalizations, adding to the care load, and compounding the family’s financial difficulties. Yet even then Dan persisted beyond his natural physical capacity in faithfully attending Church services, including making the effort to be at the 2021 annual Festival of Tabernacles observance, where the family was blessed to share together in the joy of Hana’s baptism into the Body of Christ.
Sadly, Dan began to decline very rapidly after returning home, and entered into home hospice care during the last week of his life.
The Fletcher family asks us to share with you that they do not wish anyone to feel any sort of obligation to contribute anything toward their needs; however, every donation will be gratefully accepted and deeply appreciated.
GoFundMe collects 2.9% + $0.30 per donation. The remainder of your donation will go directly to the Fletcher family.
