Dan Ferree's Heart Transplant Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi friends, please consider donating to help the Ferree family raise money to fund Dan's impending heart transplant.
On December 19th, 2022 Dan woke up with what he thought was heartburn. He took the kids (Griffin 3, Scarlett 1) to daycare and then went to work.

At work his symptoms quickly intensified, and his coworkers called an ambulance. Dan had gone into fatal rhythms during the 5-minute ambulance ride, where he was shocked repeatedly and given CPR to prevent brain death and preserve organ function. This continued while he was wheeled into surgery to open up the left descending artery, which was 100% occluded.

Dan's wife, Andrea, received a call from Dan's surgeon while he was in the operating room to inform her her husband had an anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), most commonly known as a “widowmaker” heart attack. And to “get the family here, as soon as possible.” He then informed Andrea that Dan was on life support, the next 24 hours were crucial, and he might not make it.

Dan made it through the surgery but Christmas, the new year, and Andrea's 33rd birthday all passed before Dan opened his eyes or was able to hold his family's hands. With the help of the medical staff, Andrea, prayer, family and friends, Dan has been able to fight his way back to as much of a normal life as he can have.

His heart is currently being pumped by a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) that he wears in a bag on his back, but he is on the heart transplant list. He could be called any day to be informed there is a heart waiting for him, and he and Andrea have to get to Charleston asap.

All of this has wiped out the Ferree's life savings and there are still more expenses to come. They would be forever grateful if you would be willing to share whatever you can spare to help make this transplant possible.
