Dan’s Legacy Cup is a community football event organised by Dan’s friends, in partnership with Project Volta, to honour his life and bring together the people who knew him through the game he loved most.

Dan tragically lost his life in the Bondi attacks last year. In response, we wanted to create a day centred around football — the thing that always brought him joy — and share it with the people and community around him.

On the day, 8 teams will compete in a friendly tournament, bringing together friends, teammates, volunteers, and supporters who want to be part of remembering Dan.

The event will take place at Barracluff Park, Beach Road, in North Bondi, on 21 February from 12 pm to 6 pm. and everyone is warmly welcome to attend.

To make this day possible, we are raising funds to cover the event’s operational costs. After all event expenses are covered, any remaining funds will be donated to One Ball, supporting grassroots football programs for young people across Australia.

Turning the day into something that creates opportunities for others through football feels like a meaningful way to carry Dan’s spirit forward.
