Help Dan & Draig Move to Wales!

Shwmae! I'm Dan (they/them pronouns), and I am moving with my cat Draig from Wisconsin all the way to Wales! I am entering the dissertation phase of my PhD work and will be studying access to healthcare for trans, intersex, and nonbinary people across Wales. I'll also be moving with the aim to stay permanently. I will provide updates as relevant, but here's the current plan and how you can help:
I will be moving to Wales in May, 2024! My plan is to secure a work visa and a job as a Public Health Manager (similar to someone working at a health department in the States). I have set the initial goal to cover airfare for myself and Draig (send him good wishes in the hold!) and new luggage as mine is currently falling apart after years of travel. As we approach May, I'll also add goals to cover costs of the visa, the moving company, and Draig's pet passport.
Fund breakdown:
- $3,000 - Pet relocation service for Draig from Chicago to Cardiff
- $1,200 - Flight for Dan from Chicago to Cardiff
- $300 - New luggage for Dan
- $150 - Airline carrier for Draig (for the hold, not in cabin)
- $10 - Airline travel kit for Draig
- $697 - Health & Care Worker Visa Application Fee
