Dan Bouquillon Memorial Scholarship

These funds will provide financial assistance to students seeking enrollment at Lighthouse School in Holyoke MA and NorthStar in Sunderland MA. Daniel Greyson Bouquillon died on May 20, 2023, at his home on Kensington Street in Northampton MA. As a teenager Dan attended NorthStar Self Directed Learning Center while dually enrolled at Holyoke Community College. Dan was a founding board member of the Lighthouse School.

He completed his associate’s degree about the same time many of his friends were graduating high school. He graduated from Guilford College in 2009 with a BA and UMass-Dartmouth with a certificate in Sustainable Development and Leadership. Dan enjoyed a career that uniquely sought to serve the environment through innovation in technologies, processes, and educational pathways.

Dan’s experience at NorthStar gave him insights into the need for accessible alternative education pathways for young people as demonstrated by his involvement in Lighthouse School and his continuing service on the NorthStar board. This scholarship continues Dan’s legacy.
