Dan and Trecia Rhodus
I met Trecia and Dan Rhodus about three years ago. We share our little grandson, Jackson (age 3). They are some of the most committed and loving grandparents I have ever met. Jackson and Dan are best friends. Jax is bonded to Dan, like no other relationship I've ever seen. Papaw Dan is his #1, A+, favorite person. (Papaw Rob is pretty close). He loves all of his grandparents...for sure, but I will admit that Tre and I have some jealousy issues!
Dan is very giving of his time and attention with Jackson and others. He is kind and generous and so patient with him. He teaches him all the "guy" things; hanging out in the garage, messing with cars, (probably burping and farting out there too!). They are in their happy place in that garage.
Daniel Rhodus suffered a heart attack recently. It happened while working/hanging in the garage with Jackson. Dan blacked out and fell to the ground. Our brave Jackson ran into the house to get his Nana. Although he was scared, he stayed calm and did exactly what he should have done to help his BFF. Dan was taken to the hospital by ambulance immediately.
Dan has some blockages in three arteries, complicated by angiomas in his brain, and has been cleared to have open heart surgery on Monday, June 7th. His wife, Tre, is holding things together right now. She has been at the hospital by Dan's side constantly, while still trying to keep up with running her household and her daughter Holli's activities and work schedule. Family and friends are coming together to do what they can to help. Unfortunately, Tre is unable to work right now while Dan is in the hospital and it is expected that Dan's recovery will be about 6 weeks. Six weeks before Tre is able to get back to work. It will be a struggle to keep Dan on track medically and to keep the household on track financially.
This account is being created to help alleviate some of the financial strain that Dan & Tre will face in the next few weeks. We are hoping to help them with household bills and other medical expenses they may have throughout all of this. If you are unable to donate, would you please keep Dan and his family in your prayers? Thanks so much!
